Summer Camps

 SUMMER CAMP DATES FOR 2019 are now posted! Registration opens May 2019.

(some information on this page may not be 100% reflective of summer 2019 – Registration and more details to come in May 2019)

Note: Due to large registration numbers the past few years, each youth will be able to attend only one of camp Seahorse or Camp Coyote, but not both. Campers may also attend our Cape Breton Camp in addition to one of the above, however you would require your own transport to Cape Breton.

All youth under 19 will are required to mail in the parental consent form within ***1 week*** of registering or you risk losing your spot.

Cape Breton Summer Camp!

Held at: Camp Carter
3350 Big Harbour Rd., Harris NS
Open to LGBTQ2+ youth 20 and under.

 

YP Cape Breton Camp is a chance to get together with LGBTQ youth and allies from across Cape Breton to share experiences, spend time in a safe space, meet new people, and experience camp the way you want.

Activities include: social support activities, campfires, scavenger hunts, swimming, arts & crafts, resources, and more!

Camp Coyote
August 8th-11th 2019
Location: Camp Mockingee
160 Smeltzer Rd, Windsor, NS
Open to all trans* identified youth, age 20 & under 

Those taking the bus should be at The Youth Project (2281 Brunswick Street) at 11.00am, Aug 8th. (Bring your own lunch.) Return pick-up at the Youth Project Aug. 11th at 3.00pm.  

Camp Coyote is a chance to get together with other trans-identified youth from across Nova Scotia to share experiences, spend time in a safe space, meet new people, and experience camp the way you want.

Activities include: social support activities, trans-health discussions, campfires, scavenger hunts, swimming, arts & crafts, resources, and more!

Please read the rules and information booklet before proceeding to Online registration. THE PACK LIST OF WHAT YOU WILL NEED IS IN THIS BOOKLET. PLEASE NOTE: We have found out there ARE mattresses at Camp, so an air mattress is not necessary. Please bring bedding/sleeping bag/pillow!

Camp Seahorse
July 4th-7th 2019

Open to all LGBTQ+ youth, age 20 & under

Camp Seahorse is a chance to have a summer camp experience among LGBTQ peers. Meet new people, try new activities, learn new things, and have fun! No homophobia, no bullying, all acceptance!

Activities include: Social support activities, LGBTQ-centered activities, writing, arts & crafts, scavenger hunts, fashion shows, outdoor sports, resources, campfires, ghost stories, swimming, and much more!
