GSA stands for Gay Straight Alliance or Gender Sexuality Alliance. GSAs are student-led clubs in schools that support LGBTQ youth and their allies. GSAs help make schools safer by providing a space free of judgment and assumptions. GSAs can take on many roles. They can provide a safe space for youth to make friends and feel supported while also being sites for advocacy in their schools and communities.
The Nova Scotia GSA Network has been created to provide the opportunity for connection between GSAs, resources to help keep GSA active, and to create a sense of community.
