Youth Project Auction & Brunch: Postponed to Early 2019

Originally scheduled for Sunday, November 18, 2018, the Youth Project’s 14th Annual Auction & Brunch – our largest fundraiser of the year, which fully funds our three summer camps – has been postponed to the spring of 2019.

The Youth Project runs three camps each summer: Camp Seahorse for 2SLGBTQ+ youth, Camp Coyote for trans-identified and gender non-conforming youth, and our new Camp Puffin for 2SLGBTQ+ youth in Cape Breton. These camps offer a unique opportunity for youth to spend time in a safe space, meet new friends, and experience camp without homophobia, transphobia, or bullying.

In consultation with our Youth Board, the Youth Project’s Board of Directors determined that, at this time, our organizational capacity is too limited to effectively host an event as vital as our annual Auction & Brunch on November 18.

With the central concern of our youth being that all three camps take place this coming summer, postponing our annual Auction & Brunch aids in ensuring that we execute the best possible event to reach our fundraising targets, so that we can continue to support 2SLGBTQ+ youth across Nova Scotia and send as many to camp as possible.

All tickets purchased for November 18th’s event will be refunded immediately. Details about our rescheduled event will be announced in the coming months – keep in touch with us on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.
