Session 1

Art Attack! (Youth)

A creative space to play with art supplies, make some crafts, or just to decompress and color!

Anxiety Skills (Youth)

Anxiety Skills is a place to learn some basic coping skills and strategies for dealing with anxiety. Hosted by the Youth Project social worker, Gabriel Enxuga.

Safer Sex Queered (Youth)

Often Sex Education is un-inclusive of queer and trans experiences. This workshop is a look into sex-ed from a queer and trans inclusive perspective.

Theatre Now! (Youth)

A space to play theatre games, learn new skills, and get a little silly!

Ace Space (Youth)

A space for asexual identified youth to ask questions, seek support, and share experiences in an open and safe space.

Gay/Bi/Queer Masc Space (Youth)

A space for masculine identified gay/bi/queer folks to ask questions, seek support, and share experiences in an open and safe space. There will be time set aside for anonymous questions.

Lesbian/Bi/Queer Femme Space (Youth)

A space for femme identified lesbian/bi/queer folks to ask questions, seek support, and share experiences in an open and safe space. There will be time set aside for anonymous questions.

Poetry Workshop (Youth)

Hosted by Halifax based poet and activist El Jones, explore how poetry can be a powerful tool in the lives of marginalized people.

GSA 101 (All)

Interested in starting a GSA or just recently started one? Learn the basics of getting your GSA going, how to manage meetings, and maintain motivation to keep doing the great work you want to do!

Exploring Two-Spirit Identities (All)

A space to explore and learn more about Indigenous and Two-Spirit identities.

Supporting Trans Youth (All)

Hosted by the Youth Health Centre Coordinator of Citadel High GSA, along with youth, learn how trans youth best feel supported and the firsthand experiences of trans youth in schools.

Elderberries (All)

The Elderberries is a social activism group centered around LGBTQ+ Elders in Atlantic Canada. This workshop will feature stories and experiences of elders in the LGBTQ+ community.

Queer Song Writing (Youth)

A lesson on tapping into your experiences and emotions to create lyrics and the importance of using music as a tool to bring queer voices and stories to light.

The ever-popular Drag Workshop is BACK! Join local drag queens in exploring the art of drag! Yaas Queens!

Non-Binary Space (Youth)

A space for non-binary youth to ask questions, seek support, and share experiences in an open and safe space. There will be time set aside for anonymous questions.

Trans Femme Space (Youth)

A space for trans-femme youth to ask questions, seek support, and share experiences in an open and safe space. There will be time set aside for anonymous questions.

Trans Masc Space (Youth)

A space for trans-masc youth to ask questions, seek support, and share experiences in an open and safe space. There will be time set aside for anonymous questions.

Inclusive Sex Ed (Advisors)

A space for teachers and GSA Advisors to gain the skills and knowledge to comfortably and appropriately talk to youth about sex in an inclusive way. Hosted by the Halifax Sexual Health Centre.
